To be drenched in the verdant nature of the gloaming - where eyes which draw in every particle of a space between storm and still - are closed to kiss - as mythical as levitating nymphs, shimmering as phosphorescence, as science meets art - in a state between life lived in evaporation - between seeing and believing.
In the impression of light on leaf - globules of wet signify a storm just passed - leaving a landscape exhausted and gasping. As to wake to rest upon a single drop, bouncing from canopy to fall as pearls in silent suspension to pool into puddles of sky - to exhale into rings of dapple.
The formation of fragments - porous and amassed to become a completion of equilibrium as a landscape resets - and a hollowway opens - to form the proposal of a portal. A doorway at the end of a track - a path not yet trod - we face a boundary point - where an arbough of outstretched limbs grows forth, signifying a choice, to remain watching or to risk a crossing of our own. An option which may close as quickly as this fleeting scene remains wet - before drying as a memory, and the colours of emotion fade to rust.
A scene pigmented with the oxidised coppers of science - not studied in laboratory theory but gleaned from lived experience - for the colours of Kiefer bleed with the rusted melancholy of wounds deeply cut and tender to touch. Resistant to heal yet yielding and humbled to the warning of time, ruled by the laws of life - presided over by the gods of nature.
